Yeah, we know all about your commute. How it “isn’t all that bad.”

What’s 35 minutes, in the cosmic scheme of things, you ask. No biggie.

When you say “35 minutes,” we know that really means “48 minutes,” but no matter.

You have a commute. You say it isn’t bad. That’s cool.

But you can make it better.

Commuting Stats

The Denver region’s residents commute, on average, 11 miles to work, one way, taking 25 minutes to make the trip. The Colorado Department of Transportation estimates commute times could grow to 70 minutes over the next 20 years.

Altogether, commuters in the Denver region drive about 28 million miles each weekday. The total amount of driving on the roads per day is about 68 million, when trips for all purposes – including shopping, deliveries and recreation – are factored in.

Regional residents spend, on average, one hour in their car per day.

There are 337,000 hours of vehicle delay daily in the region. This equates to 14 percent of the total time spent in vehicles.

For all traveling purposes, on average, 1.37 persons occupy each car.
