Authorities have released the names of two men who were thrown from a car as it rolled down a steep embankment near Collbran early Monday.

Marvee Johnson of Aurora and Garrett Swofford of Grand Junction, both 21, were killed in the accident, said Sgt. Gaylon Grippin, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.

Authorities don’t yet know who was driving.

The two were in a Ford Escort at 1 a.m. about a mile east of Collbran, which is northeast of Grand Junction in Mesa County, when the speeding car ran off the road, collided with boulders and trees and began to roll, authorities said.
