PITTSBURGH—Federal prosecutors in Pittsburgh say a company has been ordered to pay more than $500,000 for selling computer software obtained with stolen credit cards.
U.S. Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan’s office says Royal Distribution of Boulder, Colo., pleaded guilty in federal court to aiding and abetting the interstate transportation of goods taken by fraud. It was fined $210,000 and ordered to pay more than $300,000 in restitution.
Authorities say Royal Distribution received and resold more than $300,000 worth of software from someone in Turkey who obtained the software using stolen credit cards.
The company did not immediately respond to a message left Friday night.
