A high school teacher in Weld County is accused of assaulting a teenage student in 2006.
The Weld County Sheriff’s Office issued an arrest warrant today for John Rogers Cochran, 41, of LaSalle, according to a press release.
The alleged sex assault “involved inappropriate contact” with a 16-year-old girl, according to the release.
Cochran was a teacher in the Highland School District in Ault at the time of the alleged assault, the sheriff’s office said.
The warrant seeks Cochran’s arrest on suspicion of sex assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, a Class 4 felony.
