No way it gets worse than 41-3.
Way. Following the drubbing they took Sunday from the San Diego Chargers, the Broncos learned Monday they have lost center Tom Nalen and tight end Nate Jackson to season-ending injury.
Nalen, a 14-year center who has played in more Broncos games other than John Elway and Jason Elam, suffered a torn right biceps in the first quarter of the game Sunday against the Chargers. Nalen finished the game but an MRI exam Monday revealed the biceps tear that will require surgery and a four-month recovery.
Jackson, who was the Broncos’ receiving tight end, ripped his left groin while covering the second-half kickoff Sunday.
Meanwhile, the MRI revealed no tear on cornerback Champ Bailey’s strained quadriceps. With the Broncos having a bye this week, they hope Bailey will be able to play in their next game, Oct. 21 against Pittsburgh.
The team is going to let go of lineman Kenny Peterson. His four-game NFL suspension ended last week and the team had to make a decision whether to keep him by today.
