A 68-year-old man died this morning after crashing his truck into a pile of logs in a single-vehicle accident, according to the Pueblo Police Department .
The motorist was on Colorado 78 when he drove his vehicle off the road near the city’s dump at about 8:40 a.m., said traffic Capt. Linda Grisham in a statement.
The truck traveled some distance on a dirt road before hitting the logs, the statement said.
The man, whose identity was being withheld until his family is notified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man did not work for the dump, Grisham said.
Police are investigating the accident.
