Man charged in death of newborn in auto accident had suspected heroin in system

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A 24-year-old Grand Junction man charged with the first-degree murder of an newborn in a two-vehicle accident as he was being pursued by troopers is suspected of having both heroin and marijuana in his system.

The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel said authorities also revealed Friday that Logan Lage was an habitual traffic offender.

He is charged in the November 6th collision that injured 26-year-old Shea Lehnen and her 1-year-old son, Malachy. Lehnen was almost nine months pregnant. Her unborn girl, Lileigh, was delivered at the hospital but died hours later.
