Before Nebraska’s last visit to Boulder, in 2005, Huskers coaches showed the team clips of Kevin Costner hunting buffaloes in the movie “Dances With Wolves.” The head of a stuffed buffalo was placed in Nebraska meeting rooms during game week.
“I think the buffalo head is back,” quarterback Joe Ganz said this week. “That’s kind of what Coach Callahan brought.”
“They go on a buffalo hunt,” Ganz said of the 1990 Academy Award-winning film. “They have like a chant. I don’t know what it is. It’s ‘The buffalo must die’ or something. It’s just a fun way to get the guys revved up.”
