After Jose Theodore started the previous two games, Peter Budaj will be back in the net when the Avalanche plays at Columbus Wednesday night.

Joe Sakic won’t be back in the lineup.

Those were among the items of note Tuesday when the Avs practiced at Family Sports Center before leaving for Columbus, where they will face the Blue Jackets Wrdnesday night.

Sakic will miss his third consecutive game because of a groin injury, Avalanche coach Joe Quenneville said. He also noted that winger Scott Parker has the flu and wasn’t going to make the trip. Winger Andrew Brunette didn’t practice, either, but he was expected to travel and play after recovering from the flu. Wingers Ian Laperriere (knee) and Marek Svatos (groin) practiced, traveled to Columbus and might be able to return to the lineup Wednesday.

More details can be found in the Wednesday sports section.
