DENVER—A federal judge has granted a request by the city of Aurora to intervene in a lawsuit filed against the government in a water deal.
The Lower Arkansas Valley Water Conservancy District had filed a lawsuit against the Bureau of Reclamation and others seeking to block a deal that would allow Aurora to continue storing and purchasing water from the Arkansas River basin for the next 40 years.
A judge on Tuesday granted Aurora’s request to join the case as a defendant-intervenor, noting that the district and defendants didn’t object.
