Weather in the Denver area will remain mild through Thursday when a Pacific front moves in and brings a chance of snow for a couple of days.
Partly sunny skies in Denver today will help push the high temperature to about 48 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, as southwest winds gust only to about 8 mph.
Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low in the mid-20s in the metro area, the weather service reports.
The Denver weather on Wednesday and Thursday will be about the same, but increasing clouds on Thursday night will be part of a weathermaker for the area. Denver has a 40 percent chance of snow on Friday with a high temperature near the freezing mark – 32 degrees.
Saturday in Denver will be colder, with a high temperature of about 24 degrees, the weather service said, and a slight chance of snow.
The system out of the west should be short-lived and Sunday and Monday are expected to be mostly sunny in Denver with high temperatures in the upper 30s and lower 40s.
The mountains and foothills should have gusty winds today, especially at higher elevations, and portions of the high country could see some snow throughout the week. Snow should be on the light side, with only about 1 to 3 inches expected over the next couple of days.
The best chance for mountain snow will be tonight and then again on Friday throughout the day and night. Snow could linger into Saturday, the weather service said.
A warming trend that will dry out the air is expected to develope on Sunday.
