When you walk into the Curtis Street entrance of Elway’s at the Ritz-Carlton, you walk through a giant black-marble No. 7. It’s just one of the touches of the new outpost that tells you you’re in the house of John.
It is different from the Cherry Creek original — which is all straight lines and earth tones. At the Ritz-Carlton, you can’t find many straight lines. And it’s one room, not broken in two like the Cherry Creek Elway’s.
In Cherry Creek, the only salute to John Elway is a cabinet holding football memorabilia. At the Ritz-Carlton, there are commissioned art pieces celebrating No. 7 throughout.
The menus will be similar, but at the Ritz-Carlton, Elway’s will offer Wagyu Kobe-style steaks as well as prime — at a by-the-ounce price that will scare everyone but the very well heeled.
Citizens will get the first look at Elway’s R-C at a cocktail party Wednesday night to benefit partner Tim Schmidt‘s Creative Adoption nonprofit. The joint opens to the public at 11:30 a.m. Friday, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner 2 4/7 from then on. And they’re feeding a big bridal dinner opening night. Nothing like starting off with a drive.
Go, girlfriend.
Nuggets star Kenyon Martin has a girlfriend — at least according to NBA girlfriend sites. They’re loaded with pics of Miami’s “Diamond Queen” rapper Trina hugging Martin at his 30th birthday/New Year’s Eve party in Miami (also attended by Carmelo Anthony and La La). And the bloggers keep asking where’s K-Mart’s wife, Heather?
