BROOMFIELD, COLO. — The head of Vail Resorts Inc.’s mountain division has been named chief executive officer of Intrawest ULC, which operates ski resorts across the Rockies.
Bill Jensen, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the ski industry, will take over effective June 1, succeeding Alex Wasilov who has been chief executive for 15 months, Intrawest announced Tuesday. Wasilov will rejoin the Intrawest board of directors.
Jensen is president of Vail Resorts’ mountain division and chief operating officer of Vail Mountain.
Vail Resorts has promoted John Garnsey, chief operating officer of Beaver Creek Resort, and Blaise Carrig, chief operating officer of Heavenly Mountain Resort, to executive vice president to share oversight of the mountain division. Both will retain their current COO responsibilities.
Chris Jarnot, a Vail Resorts senior vice president, was named chief operating officer of Vail Mountain.
The Broomfield-based Vail Resorts owns and operates Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone and Breckenridge ski areas in Colorado, Heavenly in Nevada and California, and the lodge near Jackson, Wyo.
Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Intrawest is a leading destination resort company with 11 mountain destinations, including Steamboat Springs, Winter Park and Copper Mountain in Colorado.
