George Carlin looms large over the modern comedy scene, as influential and talented as Steve Martin but, unlike him, still performing regularly. The former disc jockey hones his bits on the road before releasing HBO specials and CDs with clockwork determination. The feisty 70-year-old stand- up will visit the Buell Theatre on April 12 to benefit PBS station KBDI-TV 12. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($45-$75, Ticketmaster)

Jonas Brothers recently signed a touring deal with massive concert promoter Live Nation, no doubt affording the recent Hannah Montana opening act the highest-profile performance and promotional venues. Case in point: The band plays the Wells Fargo Theatre on Feb. 9. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. The first 20 rows of the show are only available at the Wells Fargo Theatre’s box office at the Colorado Convention Center. Line positions will be determined by a lottery starting at 7:30 a.m. ($43.50-$53.50, Ticketmaster)

Megadeth will bring its mathematical metal to the Fillmore Auditorium on April 12. Tickets for the Metallica offshoot’s show are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($39, Ticketmaster)

Elizabeth Gilbert’s “Eat, Pray, Love” has spent a year on the New York Times Bestseller list and at least that amount of time on the minds of travel- and food-oriented people everywhere. The spiritual-minded author will speak at the Paramount Theater on April 6. Tickets are on sale now. ($38 or $95 for VIP book signing, )

Lisa Lampinelli is known for many things, but one of them is not mincing her words. The brassy comedian (often dubbed “The Queen of Mean”) will play the Boulder Theater on Feb. 29. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($34.50-$36.75, )

Justice captivated dance aficionados last year with a Daft Punk-aping debut and inscrutable stage show, which the French duo will bring to the Ogden Theatre on March 22 as part of the Myspace Music tour with Diplo and Fancy. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m today. ($25-$30, Ticketmaster)

Helio Sequence canvassed the Front Range less than a month ago, but the Sub Pop act doesn’t seem to mind returning to support its excellent new disc, “Keep Your Eyes Ahead.” The band plays the Larimer Lounge on March 11. Tickets are on sale now. ($10-$12, )

Colbie Caillat’s rescheduled Feb. 12 show moved from the Paramount Theatre to the Fillmore Auditorium. New tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($22.50, Ticketmaster)

Evangelicals live up to the name with an armload of roiling, unexpectedly melodic indie rock anthems delivered with a sideways glare. The Norman, Okla., band plays the Hi-Dive on March 27. Tickets are on sale now. ($8, hi-dive.com)
