GOLDEN, Colo.—Vincent Margera, known to MTV viewers as “Don Vito,” has been sentenced to two years of probation after pleading guilty to violating bond conditions by possessing cocaine.
Margera was sentenced last month to 10 years to life on probation after he was convicted of two counts of sexual assault on a child over complaints that he fondled girls during a promotional appearance in 2006. His sentence barred him from portraying his Don Vito persona from the show “Viva La Bam” in any public appearances for a decade.
His attorney has said Margera was portraying the outrageous, profane Don Vito character during the encounters that led to his arrest.
While out on bond on the sex assault case, Margera tested positive for cocaine use.
The probation he received Friday for violating his bond conditions will run concurrently with the probation from the sex offender sentence.
Defense attorney Pamela Mackey said Margera entered treatment for drug addiction in December 2006 and has not relapsed since completing the program.
