DENVER—A 19-year-old man is dead after the car he was riding in went out of control and rolled off a highway in Douglas County.
The Colorado State Patrol says Matthew Ryan Edward Nichols died early Wednesday at the scene of the crash near Sedalia.
Investigators say 18-year-old Jordan M. Wells of Highlands Ranch was driving a 1999 Hyundai Tiburon north on Colorado 85 when the car drifted off the right side of the road just after midnight.
Authorities say Wells overcorrected and the car left the road again, going up and down an embankment and rolling once.
Wells suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
Both Wells and Nichols were wearing seat belts.
The patrol says alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash.
