STE-ADELE, Quebec—Canadian Steve Omischl won the World Cup aerials event Sunday at Ski Mont Gabriel, finishing with 249.72 points.

“It’s probably the most important victory of my career, and it came in Canada,” said Omischl, from North Bay, Ontario. “I competed in World Cup events in Quebec over the last seven years, whether at Tremblant or here, and I never climbed the podium.”

Belarus’ Anton Kushnir was second with 243.72 points, and countryman Dmitri Dashinski was third with 243.58. In the season standings, Omischl leads with 360 points, followed by Kushnir with 290 and Dashinski with 245.

In the women’s final, Belarus’ Alla Tsuper won with 201.02 points.
