Denver police advise drivers to be aware of a police impersonator who has been robbing people after pulling them over with emergency lights.
At least three incidents have been reported where a man driving a white sedan with red and blue lights on the driver’s side roof has stopped drivers. Wednesday evening, a car was pulled over near East 47th Avenue and Race Street. The driver asked to see police ID, and the suspect fled.
Monday afternoon, a similar car pulled over a female driver near East 35th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. He handcuffed her and stole money and identification cards.
The same type of incident happened Jan. 18.
In all cases, the suspect was described as a white male, about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, with light-colored hair, wearing a tan work jacket and dark shirt with a police badge or logo on the left side of the shirt.
