ACCRA, Ghana — Five thousand miles from home, President Bush found his true love — baseball.
Standing at home plate on a tiny ballfield at Ghana International School, Bush exclaimed: “Welcome to T-ball in Ghana. … Play ball!”
It was only a one-inning game sandwiched around a rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” but it was long enough for Bush to get in the mood.
Afterward, Bush handed out presidential baseballs, posed for photographs and signed autographs, then headed to a more formal event: a state dinner with Ghanaian dignitaries.
