DENVER—The Anti-Defamation League says the number of anti-Semitic events it recorded in Colorado rose for the first time in three years, even as the number of incidents fell nationally.
The group audited 40 states and Washington, D.C., last year, and Colorado ranked eighth for the most anti-Semitic incidents.
The ADL says 30 cases of anti-Semitic harassment, vandalism or both were reported in Colorado, up from 22 in 2006.
That included reports of a swastika painted on a Jewish family’s front door and an attack in Boulder that led to assault and hate-crime charges against two men.
The national audit found 1,357 anti-Semitic incidents in 2007, down 13 percent from 2006.
