COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—The senior pastor at a megachurch where a gunman killed two people says he recommends that churches have armed guards.
New Life Church Pastor Brady Boyd made the comment Thursday just before convening a forum on church security.
A gunman killed two teenage sisters at New Life In December, hours after he killed two people at a missionary training center in suburban Denver.
The gunman committed suicide after he was shot and wounded by a volunteer security guard at New Life.
Boyd says his church organized the security forum in hopes of helping prevent a repeat.
Nearly 120 Colorado churches signed up for the event, which was closed to the media.
