Authorities are investigating the death of a 2-month-old boy who was brought to a Colorado Springs hospital unconscious and not breathing, authorities say.
Preston James Cheever, was pronounced dead Friday evening at Memorial Hospital, according to a news release by the Colorado Springs Police Department.
No criminal charges have been filed.
Detectives from the police department’s Violent Crimes Section went to the home of the child on the 5900 block of Bestview Way to investigate the circumstances that led to the child’s death, the release says.
The child was brought to the hospital at about 6:30 p.m.
The El Paso County Coroner’s Office will perform an autopsy on Preston’s body, police say.
