ASPEN — A rescue team has recovered the body of the son of a former U.S. congressman, who died after falling more than 1,000 feet while skiing on the eastern side of Mount Sopris near Aspen.

Lathrop Strang, 46, of Carbondale, was an architect and the son of former U.S. Rep. Michael Strang, R-Colo., who still lives in Carbondale.
