NEW YORK — Alex Rodriguez, Jorge Posada and Phil Hughes are expected to travel to the Yankees’ spring-training facility in Florida today to continue rehabbing their injuries.
Rodriguez (strained right quadriceps) ran in the outfield before New York’s game against the Indians on Wednesday night. The third baseman also played catch, fielded grounders and took batting practice. He is expected to continue with a similar routine over the next few days before possibly playing in extended spring games next week.
Posada (rotator cuff) could take batting practice Friday, while Hughes (rib) isn’t expected back before July.
Footnotes.

• The Twins placed right-handed pitcher Scott Baker on the disabled list with a strained right groin and called up right-hander Kevin Slowey from their Triple-A affiliate.
• Chad Gaudin is moving from Oakland’s rotation to the bullpen to make room for the return of right- hander Rich Harden, who is scheduled to come off the DL to start Sunday’s series finale at Texas.
• Nationals catcher Paul Lo Duca was injured while batting in the seventh inning against Houston. He doubled over in pain after a swing. The team said Lo Duca had sharp pain in his right hand and would be examined today.
