Don’t let any snow fool you: It’s still spring.

A blast of wintry air from the northwest is expected to deliver snow and a brief cold snap to Colorado. Driving could be hazardous in the mountains, where snow is in the forecast the rest of the workweek.

Any snow that reaches Front Range cities and the Eastern Plains will be a brief visitor, as warmer temperatures and showers expected today will take out the white stuff, according to the National Weather Service office in Boulder.

Spring gardens planted in the warmth and sun over the past two weeks should be safe if gardeners cover their plants, said Christy Bishop, assistant manager at Paulino Gardens nursery in Denver. “It’s just unpredictable spring weather,” Bishop said. “That’s the way nature is this time of year in Colorado.”
