Denver native Neal Baer, best known as executive producer for “ER” and “Law & Order: SVU,” focuses on The House Is Small but the Welcome Is Big, a photo-journalism project about African women and children affected by HIV/AIDS. Storytelling, Baer said at a recent “House is Small” event, offers a powerful way “to motivate others to learn and to take action.

This celebrated fleece and fiber event, Thursday through June 15, is among the nation’s largest wool markets. This year, the National Colored Angora Goat Breeders and the National Blue Leicester Sheep associations make their Wool Market debut. Returning favorites include the Incan Paco-Vicuna alpacas, Angora rabbits, and weaving, spinning and fiber-arts demonstrations.
