An 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man are dead following a shooting late last night in a Colorado Springs residential neighborhood, police say.
When police arrived at a home near Carmel Drive and Monterey Road they found two people lying in the street, said Sgt. Randy Thomas, Colorado Springs police spokesman.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was rushed to Memorial Hospital where she died of her injuries.
Police have not arrested anyone and the motive of the shooting is not yet available, Thomas said. Few details were available about the circumstances of the shooting.
Authorities have not released the names of the victims pending notification of family members and confirmation of their identities.
“The detectives are still out working,” Thomas said.
