GOLDEN — The jury in the trial of a woman accused of giving birth in a toilet and not rescuing the baby was sent home Tuesday night and told to try again to reach a decision today.
Cheri Kostur, 29, of Lakewood has been charged with child abuse resulting in death in connection with the January 2007 premature birth of her daughter, Kerra.
The jury, which began deliberations late Monday after a week of testimony, indicated twice that it may be deadlocked. District Judge Lily Oeffler gave the jury instructions to continue deliberations.
