Participants and supporters raised $3.3 million for local breast cancer organizations during this weekend’s Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Rocky Mountains event, organizers said in a news release.

The event began with a ceremony Saturday in Keystone, after which participants walked 13.1 miles to the overnight camp at Summit County Middle School.

Today the group walked another 13.1 miles to end with closing ceremonies in Breckenridge.

Organizers said 1,550 participants from 46 states were involved in Avon Walk Rocky Mountains.
