Fort Collins is America’s second-favorite place to live, according to a ranking of small cities in the August issue of Money magazine, which hits newsstands Monday.

“It’s extremely rewarding to see this type of national recognition for Colorado and our communities,” Gov. Bill Ritter said. “Fort Collins is one of Colorado’s priceless gems. As home to Colorado State University, innovative businesses and an overall high quality of life, Fort Collins truly deserves this honor.”

Other Colorado cities recognized in the report were Highlands Ranch at No. 12; Loveland, 33rd; Westminster, 44th; and Longmont, 50th.

Money magazine’s ranking follows last week’s report by CNBC that ranked Colorado fifth in the U.S. for its business climate.
