DENVER—A Monument man is accused of offering an IRS agent Colorado Rockies season tickets in return for changing a 2006 person income tax return audit.
A grand jury handed up an indictment charging 47-year-old Edward Sobczewski (So-BEE’-esk-ee) with four counts bribery.
He was arrested Wednesday and was to appear in court Thursday.
If convicted, Sobczewski faces up to 15 years in federal prison and up to a $250,000 fine for each count.
A number listed for Sobczewski did not work and it was unclear whether he had retained an attorney.
