Donors gave more than $162 million to the University of Colorado last fiscal year, the most plentiful period on record for the school and its foundation, officials said Tuesday.
This means that private contributions to the 55,000-student, three- campus system have climbed close to what the state allocates in public funding.
Only 8.8 percent of CU’s $2.4 billion budget comes from the state, and philanthropic donors account for 6.8 percent of its overall budget. Allison Sherry, The Denver Post
