Some of the proposals in Xcel Energy’s plan to cut Colorado’s energy demand by providing rebates and incentives:
— Cash rebates to customers who agree to have their still-operating second refrigerator removed and recycled for free.
— Financial incentives to participating retailers for sales of Energy Star appliances and TVs.
— Energy-efficient shower heads.
— Tiered rebates based on efficiency ratings for qualifying furnaces and boilers and storage and tankless water heaters.
— Rebates for specific energy efficiency measures in qualifying low-income households in partnership with the Governor’s Energy Office.
— Rebates for energy efficiency measures in multifamily buildings for low-income families with at least 66 percent occupancy.
