DENVER—The Arizona Diamondbacks activated left-hander Doug Slaten from the 15-day disabled list Wednesday and optioned right-hander Billy Buckner to Triple-A Tucson.
Slaten was placed on the disabled list July 19 with a strained right knee. He made four rehab appearances for Tucson, allowing three runs, five hits and three walks in 3 2-3 innings of relief.
In 36 games for the Diamondbacks this year, Slaten is 0-3 with a 4.55 ERA.
Buckner was recalled July 19 and appeared in four games for Arizona. He allowed two runs and eight hits, striking out five and walking two in 6 1-3 innings of relief.
Arizona is playing the Colorado Rockies Wednesday evening.
