It’s not Keith Francis’ fault he wrote a letter mixing politics and sports. It’s The Post’s fault for printing it! The only thing worse than mixing sports with politics is mixing sports with religion. Making the claim that Becky Hammon’s choice to compete in the Olympics with “the conflicted Republican/conservative mind-set of capitalism first” is inane. To print such a blatant attempt to disparage the Republican Party on the sports pages is outrageous. I want to read about the Broncos, the Rockies and the CU Buffaloes on the sports pages, not politics, even when included in a letter to the editor. Sports are fun and a diversion. Politics is about who affects our lives through public policies and is serious business. Keep sports pure and print political opinion on the editorial pages.
