Getting your player ready...

LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini says he’s confident that his players will be ready for their first game of the season next Saturday.

Pelini says the team made a lot of improvements through preseason practice, but there’s still a lot of work to do.

The team has already started to focus on the Aug. 30 matchup against Western Michigan.

Pelini says he thinks the Huskers will play well in their first game.

The team worked out for 1 1/2 hours in shorts and shoulder pads Saturday. Pelini says the practice was about the length a typical Monday practice will be during a game week.

Nebraska recorded relatively few injuries during the three weeks of preseason practice.
