Boulder authorities have finished repairs on a ruptured natural-gas line in Boulder.
More than an hour ago, police and fire crews responded to the 1500 block of Arapahoe Avenue as a result of the rupture.
Dispatchers sent a reverse 911 message to homes and businesses near the area, urging occupants to close their windows and doors and remain inside or voluntarily evacuate until at least 3:15 p.m.
Road closures also were in effect, according to Sarah Huntley, spokeswoman for the Boulder Police Department.
But Huntley said shortly after 3 p.m. that repairs had been made, streets were open and there was no need to evacuate.
Among the streets closed temporarily were Arapahoe Avenue, which was closed in both directions from 14th to 17th streets.
In addition, 15th Street was closed from Arapahoe to Canyon Boulevard.
Authorities said that school-resource officers had worked with students who were to leave nearby Boulder High at the end of the school day.
