"Life on Mars" Oct. 9 — Adapted from a British series that was terrific, about a contemporary cop who mysteriously finds himself back in 1973 after a car accident. In the U.S. version, not yet previewed, Jason O'Mara has the lead role, Harvey Keitel, Michael Imperioli, Gretchen Mol and Lisa Bonet back him up. Plagued by recasting and changes in the production team, and with no pilot to offer, this one is a big question mark. ABC Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Channel 7. Sept. 24 Remember David Hasselhoff’s talking-car series from the ’80s? Because NBC scored good ratings with this year’s silly two-hour movie (a backdoor pilot), it’s back as a series. The ride has been overhauled and detailed. KITT is now a shape-shifter owned by an Iraq war veteran. It’s still a talking car, voiced by Val Kilmer. You were expecting serious drama? NBC Wednesdays at 7 p.m. on Channel 9.
