Husky power:

How many people wrote off Douglas County after its 0-2 start? Admit it, you did. Running back Jose Astorga, right, got D.C. back to .500 with a 16-carry, 201-yard and six-touchdown performance in the Huskies’ 59-14 victory over Palmer on Friday night.

Rebel yell:

South quarterback Derek Robinson had a field day against Adams City, completing 18-of-30 passes for 359 yards and four TDs in a 47-7 win. Robinson was intercepted three times but connected with six different receivers.

Tough Tiger:

Cañon City tailback Damon McCain ran 47 times for 368 yards and four touchdowns in the Tigers’ 31-17 come-from-behind win over Pueblo East.
