A 2-year-old boy tumbled out the third-floor window of an apartment complex in Green Valley Ranch on Sunday afternoon.

The child was rushed to Children’s Hospital in Aurora after Denver Fire Department paramedics were called at 2:16 p.m., said Assistant Chief Steve Garrod.

Authorities are investigating what led to the fall at Redstone Ranch apartments, 4775 Argonne St., near East 48th Avenue and Tower Road.

The child was conscious and breathing and injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Officials say the toddler was breathing on his own and was
conscious after landing on his face in some small rocks.

The boy had been playing in a bedroom with his 4-year-old brother
when he fell through a window screen.

His name and condition have not been released.
