KREMMLING, Colo.—Federal investigators are still trying to determine why a twin-engine plane crashed near Kremmling, killing the two people and two dogs on board.

Allen Kenitzer of the Federal Aviation Administration said the twin-engine Piper PA-60 Aerostar crashed on approach to Mc Elroy Airfield Thursday night about 75 miles west of Denver.

Grand County sheriff’s officials say the plane burned on impact. Grand County Coroner Brenda Bock said she expects to release the victims’ names Monday.

Kenitzer said the plane took off from North Las Vegas Airport and was registered to BDW Equipment Leasing of Las Vegas. No listed number could be found for the company.
