GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A Grand Junction man sentenced to life in prison for killing his wife has lost his latest bid for a new trial.
The Colorado Supreme Court this week refused to review a ruling by the state Court of Appeals, which upheld the first-degree murder conviction of Michael Blagg.
He was found guilty in 2004 of killing 34-year-old Jennifer Blagg, who was reported missing in November 2001. Her body was found in a landfill seven months later.
Their 6-year-old daughter, Abby, is missing and is presumed dead. No charges have been filed in her disappearance.
Attorneys say jurors should not have heard about Blagg’s Internet pornography addiction, nor should a retired criminal profiler been allowed to testify.
The high court voted 6-1 against reviewing the case.
