DENVER—Denver police now say a man shot by officers after a short foot pursuit probably was not the “inside-out robber” they thought he was.
That’s because later Wednesday a thief hit the same Capitol Hill neighborhood that the serial bandit has been targeting.
Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson says the man sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the shooting that occurred shortly before noon Wednesday. Jackson says the man who was shot is believed to be wanted on other felony charges, but the suspect’s identity and possible charges haven’t been released.
Jackson says officers shot the man after he threatened them and made a move that appeared as though he was pulling a weapon.
The man is listed in serious condition at Denver Health Medical Center.
