NEW YORK — The State Department is prohibiting all U.S. government personnel from staying at or even visiting major hotels in Pakistan’s capital and two other cities and is telling them to stay away from restaurants there. The order follows last weekend’s truck bombing of the Marriott hotel in Islamabad that killed 53 and also applies to hotels in Karachi and Peshawar. It was issued late Tuesday amid fears that further attacks may be imminent against Western targets in Islamabad.
