DENVER—Colorado is getting two new federal judges.

As expected, the U.S. Senate has confirmed two judges nominated by Colorado’s senators and backed by the Judiciary Committee.

Philip Brimmer and Christine Arguello were confirmed Friday. The judges were forwarded to the Senate after Colorado Sens. Wayne Allard and Ken Salazar settled a stalemate over judicial nominations.

The disagreement threatened to leave a federal court in Denver down three judges by the end of the term of President Bush, when all nominations expire.

The U.S. District Court in Denver still has a third opening.
