FORT COLLINS — A Morrison man was assaulted Sunday in Fort Collins when he stopped for gas at a convenience store, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The 54-year-old man stopped at Sandy’s Convenience Store at 1500 E. Mulberry St. just after midnight.
A man came up to him and demanded his keys and wallet, he told deputies. When he didn’t immediately hand over the items, the assailant pulled out a gun.
The man ran to the store, but the doors were locked.
The assailant hit him on the back of the head with the gun, and then the man gave him the car keys.
The victim was treated for a cut on his head and released.
His car is a gray 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara with Colorado license plate 744RYW. A “Colorado native” sticker is on the back.
He described the assailant as a white man with light growth around his upper lip and chin. He was wearing a charcoal-gray hoodie with the hood up and tan pants.
