The Colorado State volleyball team jumped up two spots to No. 14 in the AVCA Division I coaches poll released Monday.

The Rams (18-2, 8-1 Mountain West) swept a match against Wyoming in Laramie on Friday, bolstering their first-place position in the conference.

Penn State retained the No. 1 spot in the poll, followed by Nebraska. CSU plays Air Force at noon Saturday at Moby Arena in Fort Collins.

Front Range duo on World Cup team.

University of Colorado forward Nikki Marshall and Portland midfielder Keelin Winters were named to the U.S. national under-20 team for the Women’s World Cup soccer tournament in Chile next month.

Marshall and Winters played for Team USA in qualifying rounds in Mexico City during the CONCACAF tournament. Marshall, a junior from Skyline High School, is listed as a defender for Team USA. Winters is a sophomore from Regis.

Arapahoe graduate honored again.

University of Massachusetts-Boston setter Cassy Hanneman, a freshman from Arapahoe High School, was named the Little East Conference volleyball rookie of the week for the second consecutive week and fourth time overall.
