A suspected illegal immigrant was sentenced to 3½ years in federal prison this week on charges of dealing more than 500 grams of cocaine.
Isaac Pena-Rascon, 24, of Mesa County will serve another three years’ probation after he is released, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office in Denver. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed an immigration hold on him after he is released, however.
Charges against a co-defendant, Cesar Armando Perez-Coronel, are pending.
Rascon was arrested in March and pleaded guilty. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency said he negotiated the coke deal at a fast-food restaurant in Clifton in February.
