CALGARY — Avalanche captain Joe Sakic will continue to sit out with a sore back when the team plays the Flames on Tuesday night.
The team said Sakic skated this weekend and is showing progress, but he will not be ready on Tuesday.
Sakic, who missed one game two weeks ago with the back problem, then played only in the first period against Nashville on Nov. 8 and has not played since then.
