AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.—Matt Holland scored 22 points and had nine rebounds to lead Air Force to an 86-65 tournament win over the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs on Saturday.
Nick Weaver led Colorado-Colorado Springs with 22 points and Scott Sublousky added 14 in the opening round game of the Reggie Minton Air Force Classic.
Colorado-Colorado Springs went on a 6-0 run to get within 56-51 with 10:30 remaining in the game. The Falcons then scored five straight field goals, including three-pointers from Andrew Henke and Matt Holland. Air Force outscored Colorado-Colorado Springs the rest of the game, including 13 points scored from the free throw line.
Both teams will play again Sunday. Colorado-Colorado Springs will face Texas-Pan American and Air Force will play Wofford.
